The Museum of Military History in Vienna (Heeresgeschichtliches Museum) is the museum of the Austrian army. It is the oldest military history museum in the world and the largest built for this purpose. The museum documents the history of the Austrian army from the 16th century until 1955. The museum is housed in the arsenal of Vienna where it exhibits its collection that includes weapons, armours, tanks, aeroplanes, uniforms, flags, paintings, medals and badges of honour, photographs, battleship models, and documents.
