Museum Dr. Guislain is housed in the former Hospice Guislain from 1857, the first institution in Belgium specifically built for the treatment of the mentally ill. Dr. Guislain was a pioneer in that field. The museum shows the history of psychiatry and 'madness'. A photo collection illustrates life in a psychiatry and the perception of ‘the weird’. In addition, the museum displays 'outsider art' and Belgian and international developments and figures are covered.

Museum Dr. Guislain has 2 ratings.
