The Pen Museum is a museum in Birmingham that is housed in an 1863 Florentine Renaissance style former pen factory that is devoted to pens and calligraphy. Through its collection of more than 5,000 pieces related to the steel pen trade in Birmingham, the museum tells the story of Birmingham’s important role in the information revolution. In the museum visitors can discover how Birmingham was home to many of the factories that manufactured the ‘Birmingham pen’ which in the 19th century supplied around 75% of the world’s pens.
