Sudley House is the former family home of the Holt family. George Holt founded the Liverpool shipping line Lamport and was a pioneer of trade with Brazil. The museum includes paintings by Turner, Rossetti, Holman Hunt and many other artists. The house in combination with its art collection is described as being the only British collection of its kind still in its original setting.
