The Charles Dickens Museum is an author's house museum, housed in a typical Georgian terraced house. The house was Charles Dickens's home from 1837 to 1839. The museum features the famous portrait of Dickens known as Dickens's Dream by R. W. Buss, with Charles Dickens surrounded by many of the characters he has created. Besides this the museum has various other items on display, including first editions, original manuscripts, original letters and personal items of Charles Dickens.
