Consisting of a Tudor manor house and a Victorian chapel, Fulham Palace was used as the main residence of Bishops of London from the 11th century until 1973. Nowadays Fulham Palace houses a museum that showcases the long history of the palace through paintings and other artefacts. The palace is surrounded by gardens that also date a long way back. The oldest tree, an evergreen oak, can be found in the southeast corner of the main lawn and it is about 450 years old.
