Tate Britain is the national gallery of British art from 1500 to the present day. Tate Britain houses an extensive collection of the art of the United Kingdom since Tudor times, and is known for its large holdings of the works of Turner. Other artists include David Hockney, Peter Blake and Francis Bacon. Besides its permanent collection, Tate Britain organises career retrospectives of artists from the UK and big temporary exhibitions of British Art.
