Reminiscent of an ancient Greek temple and a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site, the Old National Gallery (Alte Nationalgalerie) in Berlin houses a huge collection of art of various styles and movements. The collection contains works of the Neoclassical and Romantic movements (by artists such as Friedrich, Schinkel, and Blechen), of the Biedermeier, French Impressionism (such as Manet and Monet) and early Modernism (including von Menzel, Liebermann and Corinth). Highlights of the exhibition include works by Cézanne, Monet, and Manet. It houses one of the largest collections of 19th-century sculptures and paintings in Germany.
