The Staatsgalerie Stuttgart (State Gallery) is an art museum in Stuttgart in Germany that exhibits painting from the end of the Middle Ages as well as sculptures from the 19th century and an extensive graphic collection. The collection of the Staatsgalerie contains around 5,000 paintings and sculptures. The story of the collection goes back to the 18th century. During this time, the Dukes of Württemberg laid the foundation of the collections. It includes old German paintings from 1300-1550, Italian paintings from 1300-1800, Dutch paintings from 1500-1700, various works of art from 1800-1980 and a graphic collection.
