Peak District Lead Mining Museum is a museum in Matlock Bath. The museum features exhibits related to the old lead mining heritage of the area. You can explore the past through interactive, hands-on displays, through the use of video and exhibits ranging from the large water pressure engine in the centre of the museum to tallow candles used by the miners. There is also a large collection of mineral and rock samples in the geology corridor. The museum also runs Temple Mine where you can go on a guided tour of real fluorspar mine. It is a bit muddy and wet and you will have to bend in places - it was a hard life being a miner.
