Turtles are among the oldest animals on earth. Hundreds of living turtles were housed within the Turtle Center. There was also a permanent exhibition on the first floor. This exhibition completed the educational aspect of the center. In display cases you were able to see stuffed species of turtles, but also items that were confiscated by customs among returning holidaymakers. This mostly concerned objects made from endangered species of turtles. Examples were a hair comb, a banjo and a candle stand. After viewing turtles and exhibition, children were able to do an educational treasure hunt (only in Dutch)
