Streekmuseum Volkssterrenwacht Burgum consists of two museums. The local museum focuses on geology and archaeology. In addition it exhibits works by silversmiths from Burgum, a photography collection, and illustrates the life and work of Henry Bulthuis, the designer of the BM sailboat. The observatory is open on Friday between 19:00 and 22:00. If the sky is clear, visitors can use the telescopes.
