Museum De Sûkerei illustrates how people lived and worked in the Northern Frisian Woodlands in the early twentieth century. Sûkerei means Chicory which was a replacement in 1800 for the then very expensive coffee. The museum consists of three small houses and a Chicory drying place. The cottages and drying place were demolished and were rebuilt on the site of the Sûkerei.
