Museummolen De Nieuwe Palmboom is housed in ‘De Palmboom’, a windmill in Schiedam which was built in 1781 to grind raw materials for the production of jenever. The museum illustrates the history of mills of Schiedam and the production of grain into jenever. The museum also displays a model of the city in the year 1847 that features all the windmills in Schiedam in the 19th century during the heyday of the jenever industry.
