Exhibition 'Accessorise!' in Portland Basin Museum
Our latest exhibition features a vast array of stunning, practical and interesting items from the museum’s collections as well as various loans. Some have not been on display for years - if ever.
There are both ladies’ and gents’ accessories. Men’s items include hats, ties, tie-pins, watches, cufflinks and shoes. Among the women’s accessories are hats, shoes, hat-pins, jewellery, scarves and gloves.
The main feature of the exhibition is a collection of beautiful hat-pins and hat-pin stands gathered by a local collector. Some are functional, some are decorative, and the stands are made from various materials.
