It’s easy to be glib about how weaving is embedded in our language/culture. We can talk about ‘keeping the thread’ (of a conversation); ‘spinning a yarn’ and how it has contributed to the ‘fabric of society’. It is important to unwrap some of our local history and bring it to the attention of our young people who have been given the opportunity to express their response through various media. These responses form part of this exhibition and can be seen alongside the artwork of local artists who have in turn produced a body of work in response to weaving related archive material held in the Angus Collection.
