Exhibition 'Britten in America' in The Red House
In this year’s exhibition we follow in Britten’s footsteps and take a trip to America. Between 1939-1942 Britten lived and worked in the USA, writing some of his most fascinating works including Sinfonia da Requiem and his first stage work Paul Bunyan. While achieving great professional success, and living with some remarkable people, homesickness and concern for family in wartime England eventually drew him back to Suffolk where he remained for the rest of his life.
