Exhibition 'Double Take' in Museum & Art Swindon
Q: What happens when you bring together the work of six Collection artists, four contemporary Wiltshire artists, and 200 Swindon school children?
A: A creative miracle.
Double Take is an exhibition which explores creativity and invites visitors to join in.
We asked pupils across Swindon to look… and then look again. Their challenge was to take inspiration from artworks in the Swindon Collection. With the support of practising professional artists Anya Beaumont, Jo Beal, Jo McAree and Helen Moore, pupils produced their own creative responses. Their artwork is displayed alongside the work of the artists who inspired them. Pupils explored the ways we experience and respond to the world around us. Their work encourages us to see the world in new and unexpected ways – to sit up and take notice.
Swindon’s pupils bravely accepted the challenge to engage in conversation with some very well-known artists. Now as artists in their own right, they invite YOU to join the conversation…
