Fashion is more than just clothing: it’s a language, a sign of status, and a way to present yourself. In the exhibition “Dress Codes: from statement to style icon”, you’ll discover how (court) etiquette sets the tone.
Featuring iconic garments such as Queen Emma’s court train and Wilhelmina’s wedding dresses, as well as outfits from contemporary royals and haute couture from renowned fashion houses. Dress Codes takes you through ceremonies, galas, mourning, weddings, and outdoor life. What do you wear to a ball? What do you choose for the red carpet? What do your clothing choices say about you?

Dress Codes is on view from October 9 to March 8 at Paleis Het Loo. This exhibition was created in collaboration with Kunstmuseum Den Haag.
