Exhibition 'Eadweard Muybridge Week 2017 at Kingston Museum.' in Kingston Museum
Kingston Museum's Muybridge collection is one of the most significant in the world, in particular for the distinctive local and personal connection to Muybridge himself. This relationship, alongside his work and achievements will be explored, elaborated and built upon at Kingston Museum during the 14th - 18th of November 2017.
There will be a wide variety of fun, engaging and inspiring events held throughout the week; from family sessions for young children, to educational talks for the budding historian or photographer.
Some of the main events include:
Muybridge Inspired artworks by Louise Anderson 14th – 18th November, with an artist ‘meet up’ on Saturday 18th November, 2-4pm.
A display of works by photographer Paul Mowatt.
Commissioned artwork by photographer Cathy Corbishley Michel.
A screening of a short film by Markus Schneider.
Thursday 16th November:
Muybridge Scrapbook: From the 1893 Chicago Exposition to Kingston 1904, an expert talk by Professor Stephen Barber of Kingston University.
With a special opportunity to handle the facsimile copy of Muybridge’s scrapbook at 6pm.
Saturday 18th November:
11am – 2pm: The Hovering Horse paper theatre performance by Martin Haase Paper Theatre.
3pm: Helios, a stage reading of a play script by Ron Rosenfeld.
