Exhibition 'Everything is in motion' in De Fraeylemaborg

Barbara Nanning's enchanting glass art can be seen for the first time at the Fraeylemaborg Estate. Nanning makes glass, ceramics and large installations from her studio in Amsterdam. The selection of glass objects in this solo exhibition shows the enormous variety of her work. No wonder. Her objects are always a snapshot, an attempt by the artist to capture movement, color and light.
She says: 'I always work from the circle, a primal form. There is a resting point in the center of the circle. From the point of rest the movement comes and that is what I do; capturing the essence of movement and growth in my work.'
In 2023, Nanning was voted Artist of the Year and her work is included in more than 70 international museums. This is her first exhibition in Groningen.
