Exhibition 'Goal!' in Portland Basin Museum
An exhibition celebrating the history of football in Tameside. Tameside has six non-league teams – Ashton United, Curzon Ashton, Droylsden FC, Hyde United, Mossley AFC and Stalybridge Celtic – and was the birthplace of footballing legend Geoff Hurst. Using match programmes, old photographs, football merchandise and fans’ memorabilia, this exhibition captures the excitement of the game on and off the pitch.
