Exhibition 'In Touch' in IMPAKT Centre for Mediaculture
Through smartphones and social media, technology promises to bring us closer together. From close family to distant acquaintances and strangers; everyone is within reach. Still loneliness has increased in recent years. From 22 March to 19 May, IMPAKT presents In Touch: an exhibition that explores forms of connection in times of digital humanity.
The continuous and rapid growth of technology makes for drastic changes in the way connections are formed: with each other, with ourselves and with nature. Are we getting less connected in the digital age? Is technology able to provide the connection that people long for? Or are our devices slowly taking the place of human contact?
Dive into the audiovisual experiences and interactive works of art, have a conversation with AI, and discover the thin line between connection and disconnection. Through immersive and playful works, In Touch offers you the opportunity to experience first-hand what it means to engage emotionally with technology and with others through technology, and what it means to be connected.
