Exhibition 'Keeping up Appearances' in Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery

Courtyard
On the Home Front during the First World War, women were encouraged to maintain a positive outlook and to dress well, especially when men returned from posts overseas. This small display will showcase a selection of pretty, decorative accessories worn for days out or for evening occasions.
Part of a four-year programme commemorating the First World War led by the Imperial War Museum this small changing display focuses on RAMMโ€™s collections and the First World Warโ€™s impact on the South West.
