Exhibition 'Paul Hart: Truncated' in The Harley Foundation

Paul Hartโ€™s photographs explore our relationship with the landscape. See a series of his atmospheric tree portraits and be transported to the depths of the forest.

Paul Hart has photographed the natural world for over thirty-five years. This series of photographs was taken over a period of three years, on repeated visits to the same ageing pine forest plantation in Ladybower Reservoir, Derbyshire.

Hartโ€™s intensive portrayals of forests and woodlands are created using large and medium format film cameras and printed using traditional darkroom techniques. A book of photographs from the Truncated series was published in 2009 and is now held in important collections such as the V&A Museum Collection, TATE Library and the Martin Parr Foundation Library.
