Exhibition 'Rhythm & Reaction: The Age of Jazz in Britain' in Two Temple Place
Jazz provoked reactions ranging from devotion to abhorrence when the idea, and then the music, first entered the consciousness of the British public in the aftermath of the First World War. Paintings, prints, cartoons, textiles, ceramics, films, instruments and the all-important jazz sound reveal the extraordinary effect jazz had on British society: from striking visual expressions in art and design to crucial influences on the understanding of and interest in African American and black British culture. Join us for a varied programme of exhibition events for all ages - walks, talks, workshops and plenty of live music! Look out especially for our exciting free children'ls trail and weekly Art Cart events.
