Exhibition ''Rosie the Riveter'' in Freedom Museum
'Rosie the Riveter' is the name that became synonymous for the American women who went to work in the factories during the Second World War to replace the men who were of fighting. Millions of women flocked to the factories to create war materials ranging from car tires to airplanes. They did hard and sometimes dangerous work that was previously seen as 'men's work' for a salary that women would not have easily earned before the war. The taste of independence this offered young women was not forgotten after the war and the job market would never be the same. Their many stories will come to life through captivating video footage, historical objects of real life Rosies, and a great number of beautiful and never before shown photographs.
