Exhibition 'Sleep!' in Kunsthal KAdE
"Did you sleep well?" is a common question. The response gives you an insight into the person's mood and alertness. Sleep is a basic necessity of life and we spend a third of our lives asleep. A state in which we have a lowering of consciousness that temporarily lacks contact with the outside world. We surrender to it, vulnerable and thrown back on ourselves. During sleep, cellular repair, energy conservation, learning and recording of memories take place. Otherwise, sleep remains a mystery.
WAKE SLEEP DREAM REPEAT
The family exhibition Sleep! takes you on a small exploration into the vast domain of sleep and dream, through the eyes of fifty artists and designers. You will pass through four sleep stages from slumber to light sleep, continue to deep sleep and (sleep) wander via the dream to the main hall where the bed takes centre stage. Follow a second sleep cycle if you like, until you leave the exhibition completely refreshed!
