Exhibition 'tesswithlotte Exhibition' in Fashion for Good Museum

"tesswithlotte" is a collaboration between designer Tess van Zalinge and wedding planner Lotte Groosman featuring reworked bridal gowns. Together they created a limited collection of upcycled vintage wedding dresses as an ode to wedding traditions.

In a world where couples focus on beauty for a day, Tess and Lotte are trying to wake up the bridal industry with a sustainable message. In this collection Tess focuses on innovation, traditions, sustainability and craftsmanship, which results in a unique and breath taking selection of bridal wear.

Inspired by 15 forgotten wedding traditions and influences, each outfit is paying homage to: herbs and grains, food, black, blue, Bianca Jagger, costume wear, Queen Victoria, underwear, the veil, get-away-suit, flowers, pearls, white, lingerie or upcycling. All of these long lost traditions are translated into the garments. A few centuries ago, the wedding dress was worn on the wedding day and after re-used as a blanket for the baby’s crib or dyed to be worn on other occasions.

This exhibit aims to inspire, educate and show alternative options for your wedding day. The exhibition is a part of the new theme in the Fashion for Good Experience – called REBORN focusing on the journey towards circular fashion, where visitors can find a selection of innovative brands, visit workshops, documentary screenings or the exhibit about this topic.
