Exhibition 'THAT MARVELLOUS ATMOSPHERE' in Stanley Spencer Gallery

The summer exhibition delves into Sir Stanley Spencer’s last, great painting is at the Cookham gallery from 3 April - 2 November 2025. That Marvellous Atmosphere: Stanley Spencer and Cookham Regatta is the summer exhibition at the Stanley Spencer Gallery, displaying Christ Preaching at Cookham Regatta (1952-9).

Spencer devoted almost a decade to planning and painting the piece but was delayed by competing priorities and ill health.
