Exhibition 'The history of art' in Burgmuseum Parsberg
An Event from the Series "Winter Time - Museum Time" in Collaboration with the Museums in the Altmühltal Nature Park
The history of art is a fascinating journey that spans thousands of years and reflects the development of human creativity and forms of expression.
About 30,000 years ago, our ancestors began with cave paintings. In Egypt, Greece, and Rome, art became more complex, with monumental buildings and sculptures. In the Middle Ages, Christian art dominated with magnificent churches and symbolic depictions of biblical stories. The Renaissance brought a return to classical ideals and realistic representations, with artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. In the late 19th century, modernity led to radical changes, with artists like van Gogh, Cezanne, Picasso, and Kandinsky exploring new forms and techniques and challenging traditional notions of beauty and harmony.
Museum Day is designed for art-interested adults and children aged 12 and up. It offers the opportunity to discover the various eras of art history and, if desired, to try out different works of art history in our Art Studio. For children, there is the special opportunity to paint a mammoth on real stone shards.
