Exhibition 'The World Through My Lens - A Photographic Journeyโ' in Central Art Gallery
A new exhibition showcasing stunning images by local photographer Ken Morris. The exhibition features images of wildlife, landscapes and nature, as well as a range of urban views and cityscapes.
Kenโs career in the Civil Service took him to Embassies, Consulates and regional conferences all over the world and he would always make sure he packed his camera in his carry-on bag. Since retiring in 2004 he has been able to travel back to many of these places with time to explore and photograph them without work getting in the way.
The photographs on display were taken during the last 15 years as he changed from traditional 15mm film to digital cameras. They include scenes from five continents โ from the Canadian Rockies to New Zealandโs Sothern Alps, from New England in the Fall to the baking African savannah, and from foggy San Francisco to the glittering Hong Kong waterfront at night.
Inspired by his childhood memories of Donaghadee lighthouse in County Down, Ken also seeks out other lighthouses to photograph on his travels. The exhibition includes several of these images which show the similarities and differences of these buildings situated in dramatic locations around the world.
Kenโs motto is to worry less about having the latest technology but to use the best camera we have โ our eyes โ to get out and about looking for the best photo opportunities.
