Exhibition 'Vivian Suter' in Elleboogkerk
An exhibition by Vivian Suter (Buenos Aires, 1949) will be on display at the Elleboogkerk in Amersfoort from 26 September. Suter’s work can be seen as a contemporary interpretation of the painting of Helen Frankenthaler, whose work is on display at the same time at Kunsthal KAdE as part of the exhibition Frankenthaler / Judd, and shares the same freedom and intuitive approach to the canvas.
Suter, originally from Argentina, lives in the Guatemalan jungle and paints her canvases outdoors in nature. Suter’s installations consist of dozens of these canvases, unstretched, hanging freely in the space or on the wall. They are labyrinthine installations that reflect the jungle in which she works.
