Exhibition 'Women Artists: The Female Gaze' in Pallant House Gallery
Women have always been the subject of art produced by male artists and have historically been idealized as muse to invoke a particular view of beauty. This exhibition seeks to challenge these traditional narratives of femininity by looking at women artists’ representations of women. Drawn from Pallant House Gallery’s collection, it includes works by Laura Knight, Cathie Pilkington, Paula Rego, Kiki Smith and Suzanne Valadon.
