Acquario civico

The Acquario Civico di Milano (Civic Aquarium of Milan) is the third oldest aquarium in Europe. It is located in the Sempione Park, between the Civic Arena and the Sforzesco Castle. It is the only surviving building from the Milan International, built in 1906. The aquarium focuses on showing fishes and aquatic vegetation of the Italian seacoasts, lakes, and rivers. It is home to over 100 different types of underwater life in several tanks. The aquarium includes an important specialized library in the field of marine biology, with more than 12,000 books.
