The Almira Historical Society was formed in 1992 by a group of citizens devoted to collecting and preserving the history of the Village of Lake Ann and Almira Township. Through the efforts of many individuals, funds were raised to purchase land and build a museum where more than 1,500 local artifacts are on display. There are 5 buildings to tour with a docent. The Fire Barn, which houses the 1947 International Firetruck & fire fighting history. The Blacksmith Shop, an original building of the Lumber Baron, William Habbeler. The Boat House a 1940-50's lakeside building with sportsmans historic items. The original outhouse from the Lake Ann Train station. The Thompson-Kuemin House, 1940's where indoor plumbing and electricity were beginning to enter into society. Reverand Babcock's 1870's home, where his family lived, he wrote his sermons & practice which hymns for the Sunday Service in Lake Ann.

The Museum is open Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekends on Tuesday & Saturday. Check for hours. Open Flag on Entry Sign means a docent is on duty.
