The Archaeological Museum of São Miguel de Odrinhas is situated in the Sintra municipality, within the Lisbon District of Portugal. This location is steeped in history, making it an ideal place for an archaeological museum. The museum owes its existence to the collection of epigraphic stones found amongst the Roman ruins in the area, collected by the Hermitage of São Miguel.
The museum houses a wide variety of engraved and carved stones that were discovered locally. These artifacts display a range of influences, including Paleohispanic, Roman, Visigoth, and Oriental. In addition to the local items, the museum also contains three Etruscan tombs, which are the only ones of their kind in Portugal. These tombs were originally brought from Italy and were used as garden ornaments in the gardens of Monserrate Palace in Sintra.
