The Archaeological Open-Air Museum in Güglingen is dedicated to the exploration of Güglingen's Roman past. The museum provides a unique opportunity to delve into the history of the region during the Roman era, offering a glimpse into the lives of the people who once inhabited the area.
The excavations carried out from 1999 to 2005 revealed significant findings, including more than 30 houses, a public bath, and two Mithraea. These discoveries provide a comprehensive picture of the Roman settlement, offering insights into the architectural styles, living conditions, and religious practices of the time.
The museum is adorned with plants that, according to paleobotanical studies, existed during the time of the ancient settlement. This adds to the authenticity of the site, providing a more immersive experience for visitors. The museum is open to the public at all times, although it should be noted that it is not fully accessible for people with mobility issues.
