The Archivio Storico Comunale is the city archives of Palermo that keeps the archives of the municipal administration of Palermo from the end of the 13th century to the year 1957. The first regulations for archiving date back to 1320, since 1463 the Archivio has an archive room in the town hall. The archive is housed in the monastery building of the 17th-century former San Nicolò da Tolentino Augustinian convent, with majestic columns and a beautiful wooden ceiling.
