The Assiniboine Park Zoo is home to approximately 180 different animal species, offering a diverse and exciting experience for visitors. The zoo is committed to keeping up with changing zoological requirements, ensuring that the animal stock and facilities are constantly updated.
In 2012, the Assiniboine Park Zoo opened the International Polar Bear Conservation Center, and in 2014, it launched the Journey to Churchill exhibition. This exhibition showcases habitats for polar bears and other polar species, and includes an underwater tunnel. Visitors have the unique opportunity to observe polar bears through glass panes in the water, providing a truly immersive experience.
