I visited the Beecroft for the first time today (01/04/2026) with my best friend visiting from Greece. We met 20 years ago at Southend college so wanted to do something there and both loving art, fashion and culture the Beecroft seemed a perfect choice. Iโ€™ll be honest we wasnโ€™t expecting much but was so so pleasantly surprised! Firstly, the two ladies on reception (Iโ€™m so sorry we didnโ€™t get your names), were beyond friendly and helpful, they told us so much about the area and the gallery and couldnโ€™t help us more, one of them even ran half way down southend highstreet trying to catch up with me as I dropped all my bank cards and ID in the gallery, I was so shocked I didnโ€™t even thank you enough! So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! The lady in the Jazz section was so sweet, passionate and informative. The gallery itself had some really lovely pieces in the cafe and gift store, all sourced locally from local creatives. The art on display was an interesting viewing, many mixed mediums and styles again from local artists and able to be purchased. They had a fashion exhibition based on the local designer Hardy Ameis Couture worn by Gloria Levin which had some stunning pieces. The Jazz section was a lovely walk about with items such as Louis Armstrongโ€™s trumpet and a wonderful selection of records and books. Honestly this a wonderful little gem with some of the nicest people assisting there. The fact that it is free is incredible! Thank you for giving us a lovely day!
