The Bob Marley Museum, also known as Island House, is located in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. This 19th-century colonial-style home was the primary residence of international reggae legend Bob Marley from 1970 until his death in 1981. The house also served as the recording studio for the Tuff Gong music label, which Marley and his band, The Wailers, founded.
The Bob Marley Museum was established in 1985, four years after Marley's death, by his wife Rita Marley and his heirs. Visitors to the museum can see original decor, furniture, and numerous memorabilia from his life and career. These include many murals, guitars, documents, photos, press clippings, documentary films, gold and platinum records from around the world, and multiple awards.
