The Botanical Garden of the University of Innsbruck, founded in 1793, has been situated in the Hötting district since 1913. This historical garden is a significant part of the city's heritage and offers a unique opportunity to explore a wide variety of plant species in a serene environment.

Greenhouses

The Botanical Garden of the University of Innsbruck features several greenhouses, each housing a unique collection of plants. These include the cactus house with around 650 cactus species, the succulent house with succulents mainly from South Africa, South America and the Canary Islands, the fern house, the tropical house and the Mediterranean house. Opening hours

The opening hours are:

From November to February, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In March, it’s open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

From April through October, it’s open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The greenhouses, on the other hand, are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the first Sunday of the month from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
