The Braunschweig Palace Museum in the reconstructed Residential Palace takes visitors on a journey through time: opening the large wooden doors on the northern (left) side of the palace transports you back in time to the atmosphere of the former Braunschweig court. Covering an exhibition area of around 800 square meters, the Palace Museum conveys the development of the Braunschweig Residential Palace at this authentic historical site: its furnishings, its inhabitants, and its functions. Portraits of princes, furniture, and handicrafts provide a connection to the reign of Duke Wilhelm, while interactive panels and media stations offer an overview of the history of the former Duchy of Braunschweig, the Guelph family, and all phases of the palace's use. Special exhibitions and events provide insightful information on selected chapters of the palace's history. Young visitors have access to their own educational formats. Enjoy art and travel back in time to courtly culture in the rooms of the enfilade, immerse yourself in the selected themes of the ever-changing special exhibitions, get hands-on with our information panels in the gallery corridor, and enjoy the history of the palace with the โhistorical menuโ. We are looking forward to your visit!
