Located on an active military base, the museum houses a diverse collection of artifacts, uniforms, weapons, and photographs that chronicle the naval heritage of the region.

Visitors appreciate the well-organized exhibits that cover various periods of Canadian naval history, from the early days of the Royal Navy presence to modern times. Many reviewers highlight the knowledgeable and friendly staff, often including veterans, who are eager to share their experiences and answer questions. This personal touch enhances the overall experience for many guests.

The museum's size is modest, which some visitors find allows for a thorough exploration within a couple of hours. However, others might wish for more extensive displays or interactive exhibits.

While the museum receives praise for its historical value and educational content, some visitors note that the presentation style is somewhat traditional and could benefit from more modern, interactive elements to engage younger audiences.
