The Chicago Botanic Garden is a vast botanical garden and arboretum spanning 156 hectares (385 acres). It is nestled within the Cook County Forest Preserve District, a green belt that encompasses over 68,000 acres (275 km²) of open spaces. Opening Hours and Fees at the Chicago Botanic Garden

Visitors can enjoy the Chicago Botanic Garden every day, with the exception of Christmas Day. There is no entrance fee to the garden, making it an accessible destination for all. However, please note that there is a charge for parking a vehicle, which was $15.00 in 2007.

Features of the Chicago Botanic Garden

Over the years, the Chicago Botanic Garden has expanded and now includes 23 major thematic gardens. These gardens house approximately 8,310 accessions, representing 2.2 million plants. The garden is divided into three main sections: one third is dedicated to horticultural exhibits, another third to native plants, and the remaining area comprises lakes and buildings.
