The Civic Archaeological Museum of Marciana, situated on the island of Elba, was founded in 1967. Initially, it was a simple collection of artifacts from the protohistoric settlements of Monte Capanne. Over the years, the museum has grown and now houses a wide range of archaeological collections.
In 2002, the museum underwent a complete renovation under the guidance of architect Maurizio Giachetti. The renovation has enhanced the display of the collections, making it more appealing and accessible to visitors.
The museum houses a significant collection of archaeological artifacts from various periods. These include Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age materials, as well as Etruscan, Roman, Medieval, and 18th-century artifacts. The diverse collection provides a comprehensive overview of the region's history and prehistory.
