The Computermuseum of the University of Applied Sciences Kiel, located in the Neumühlen-Dietrichsdorf district of Kiel, was inaugurated on June 14, 2011. This museum is a unique destination for those interested in the history of computing and technology.
The Computermuseum showcases around 360 exhibits from various decades of computer history. The collection includes a wide range of items, from the monument-protected electromechanical relay computer Z11 from 1958 to the microcomputers of the 1990s, providing a comprehensive overview of the evolution of computing technology.
The Computermuseum offers an interactive experience with 16 media stations that provide background information through sound documents and films. Additionally, there are three emulation stations where visitors can play old computer games on authentic old computer systems, offering a hands-on experience of the past.
