Heidemuseum Dat ole Huus, located in Wilsede, Lower Saxony, is a local history museum that was established in 1907. This makes it one of the oldest open-air museums in Germany, offering a unique insight into the country's past. The museum is operated by the Naturschutzpark e. V. (VNP) and its foundation, the Naturschutzpark Lüneburger Heide.
The museum's exhibition provides information about the historical land management form of the heath farmers around 1850. It showcases the typical house inventory and the tools of a heath farm, offering visitors a glimpse into the life and work of the people during that period.
Built in 1742, the house is the oldest half-timbered house in the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park. It is a typical house of the North Heath, representing the architectural style and construction methods of the time. This historical significance adds to the cultural value of the museum.
