Recently,I had the privilege of enjoying superb Pre Raphaelite Paintings produced by 19th and Early 20th Century English and Scottish Painters at the Deleware Art Museum The Pre- Raphaelite Painters admired the painters from the Medieval and Renaissance Periods. The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was established in 1841 by John Everett Millais .This group of painters sought a return to the copious details, intense colors, and complex compostion of paintings from the Medieval and Renaissance Periods. At the Deleware Art Museum,I saw marvelous paintings by the giants of Pre-Raphaelite Paintings such as;John Everett Millais("Waterfall"),Dante Gabriel Rossetti(i("La Bella Mano"),George Frederick Watts("Eveleen Tennant"),Edward Bourne-Jones("Hymenaeus"),Ford Madox Brown("Romeo and Juliet"),Frederick Sandys("Mary Magdalene")Simeon Solomon("Toilette of Roman Lady"),and John Brett("Cragford").This art museum's collection of Pre-Raelite Period Paintings is outstanding.. I also appreciated the Deleware Art Museum's s fine collection of 20the Century American Paintings by such pnters as;John Sloan("Self Portrait")("Spring Rain"),Edward Bannister("Morning on River Providence,Rhode Island")John Henry Twachtman("Seascene"),Edward Hopper("Springtime"),and Robert Colescott("Big Brother,AnothJudgement").
